Former Marvel Studios CEO Avi Arad may have let a big one out of the bag when talking to IFMagazine.com. He says there are four villains in Spider-Man 3!

iF: There are four villains this time, Venom, Sandman, and Green Goblin and when is the fourth going to be revealed?

ARAD: Right we have four villains. Pretty soon [we'll reveal the fourth villain] I believe. Maybe around Comic Con we'll reveal something and the madness will begin.

Who do YOU think is Spidey villain #4? I think it might be the werewolf that John Jameson changed into in the comics. He just got back from a space flight, so they could play up the whole "magical space stone" thing. Plus MJ leaving John at the altar in the end of Spidey 2 gives him motive for a mad-on at Petey.

I'd say Kingpin, but he should get a movie all his own, and no actor fat enough exists to play him. And I can't think of any way to make Vulture plausible in live-action so my money is on Electro. Perhaps Kraven?

Michael Clark Duncan might pull it off.

I'll be the first to admit I don't know much about the comics, but could it be the Lizard? His human counterpart was in the last one, wasn't he?

They can't use the Kingpin, or at least not Micheal Clarke Duncan becaues Daredevil was a Fox movie. OH WELL

That's true! He's actually been in both I think, in the ironic "Oh Pete why you gotta be a slacker" teacher role.

Actually I think he was only visible in the second one, but he was mentioned in passing in the first one.

Man I could totally be Spidey. But I guess that's the charm of Spidey - that any guy who has hit puberty could be him.

Black Cat? But it's probably Lizard or the Space Werewolf since those have been previously set up.

I know Gwen Stacy's supposed to be in this one, so it's plausible that they would make her catwoman I mean black cat to further mess with "Pete + MJ".

On the director commentary, Raimi (and Arad I think) said that Black Cat was supposed to be in number two, but time constraints made it impossible.

Gwen Stacy HUH? I thought it was Felicia something-or-other. Mike Morbius' girlfriend? Or are the cartoons totally different than the comic books?

Morbius would be pretty cool, but I can see problems with that if there's no Dr. Strange, Blade, Mephisto, or Punisher present?

Felicia Hardy, Socialite. Injected with the Super-Soldier serum by somebody (Kingpin? That other gangster guy who wants to be young? Red Skull?).

Most of my Spider-Man knowledge comes from the cartoon, which was, for the most part, pretty awesome and, if I'm not mistaken, fairly faithful to the comics.

As the cartoon and Rob Liefeld has taught us, the Super Soldier serum makes your boobs grow.

It is Felicia somebody. What Justin is (probably) trying to say that in the interest of movie plot, they may conflate the characters of Gwen Stacy and Black Cat.

And I thought that in the first movie you can see Gwen Stacy's tombstone when they're at the cemetary. But maybe I'm talking crazy!

IMDB wrote:
Bruce Campbell was originally slated to fill the role of Dr. Connors. Consequently, an early draft of the script, with Campbell cast as Dr. Connors, called for the Lizard to make an appearance toward the end of the film, to which Doctor Octopus, knowing that Spider-man is Peter, would have tried to help him subdue the Lizard. That angle was dropped because Raimi, if he is on to direct the next film, plans on using the Lizard as the primary villain (alongside Harry Osborn as the next Green Goblin), and did not want the villain to simply be a minor nuisance. Raimi also knew that most people would immediately recognize Bruce Campbell, and recall his comical performance from the first film as the wrestling promoter, and he did not want Dr. Connors to be a recycled actor.

No idea if that is even accurate, but there it is.

Yeah! MJ and Gwen Stacy are kinda the same girl in the movies, at least in the "dangers befallen" sense.

I think the bank robbery trailer like in 2000, where Spidey builds a web between the Twin Towers, had Otto Octavius' picture on the wall behind the bank, and looked nothing like Alfred Molina. But maybe terrorism non-canoned this!

And that is crazy about Bruce Campbell! I like him better as a jackass who just changes fields of work constantly, anyway.
