A new comic that Jeph Jacques (Questionable Content) made. It's quite awesome. If you combined Questionable Content with Dinosaur comics this is probably what you would get.
EDIT: Crap! Forgot to put in a link her you go http://www.indietits.com/ |

As fart jokes go, that one was pretty good though. It was more about making fun of the position the bird stands in in the pictures. |

i agree, the comic, and its overall prettymuchawesomeness, were not dealt a crippling blow by the gastronomical misstep. |

I'm beginning to hate Jeph Jacques. His daily posts come off as ridiculously egomaniacal, and his characters are too hip to be believable or interesting. Despite this, I still read QC every day, because I've gotten addicted to that damn indie soap opera. Anyway, I've learned my lesson, and I'm not going to bother reading his new comic. |

The fart joke reminded me a lot of partially clips! In the "making fun of the artwork" sort of way!
DEFINITELY |

I don't really agree with some of the opinions in Indie Tits, but I do think it's real funny! I bookmarked it. This one was my favourite:

that's totally me. i stopped reading it because his characters don't (and couldn't) exist in the real world. also: the comic talks down to anyone who doesn't get his very very very specific pop culture references.
(yes, POP culture)
i'm irritated by people who are obsessed with proving the superiority of their artistic tastes. |

What's more is that the bands he name-drops aren't super-underground, for the most part, but he acts like they are. (Or I just imagine he does.) Just about everything on his best of 2004 list was also on PitchforkMedia's list as well, and they're, like, the authority in indie. |

THIRDED.
Even though I link to QC, I'm starting to get bored by the fact all the characters speak in the same manner, look the same, and just namedrop a bunch of esoteric bands. I haven't found any of the Indie Tits very funny so far. It seems like he is trying out the Jeff Rowland strategy of trying to run two comics at once (which has made things a little spotty on his front too). |

For a while I wondered if there were hidden "in-jokes" in QC beyond what I am reading as a casual reader, that I would understand if I had a more solid indie background, or if I'd read through the entire archive.
But nope! They're right there. I just didn't laugh. Clearly there are others who enjoy them though, so more power to Jeph Jacques. |

The jokes are just too indie for you guys.
You are not down with the indie culture.
(oh man there is this sweet band called modest mouse...
they are pretty indie) |

i must admit that while i don't regularly read questionable content, I haven't really ever noticed any indie snobbery or name dropping other than posters in the background. |

Go back and read the first 100 or so comics. Tons of it.
Incidentally, there's a quote from corbie talking about the Shins at the bottom of the page. |

I couldn't stand the font in the first few comics, so I didn't read them. I started from the latest and went backwards, and it didn't take very long at all to find this. |

See, the thing about strips like that is that you don't need to know anything about indie culture or to have heard of any of those bands to get the point; the comic itself gives you the facets of indie culture you need to know, by making fun of them. I don't have a problem with the indie references, and can understand everything despite not being into the music scene at all.
I won't say it's my favorite comic ever but I read them all after this thread brought it up! That is because I am a webcomic-compulsive. |

I admit that I didn't read too far into QC, but what bothered me is that the jokes weren't about indie culture, indie culture was the joke. Generally, it was something along the lines of, "Here's something that indie people do; isn't it funny?" This sounds a little more critical than I mean it to sound; I think it's okay, but there isn't much material there! Penny Arcade did something of the sort every now and then in their earlier days, but I think they've moved on now.
Also, despite the occasional bits of self-awareness, QC is still overwhelmingly pro-indie! I can live with that, but one of the ways it promotes indie culture is apparently by putting down goth culture, and it comes off as insincere. He's telling us that indies are multidimensional, full characters, but at the same time is exploiting goth stereotypes and dismissing goth culture without a second thought.
I'm not really sympathetic to goths (or even indies for that matter!) but the double standard bothers me!
I should qualify this by saying that I'm not too fond of what I know about indie culture! Of course, I know pretty much nothing about all the bands mentioned. I have musical tastes that could kill a horse. Seriously! |

Neither am I, actually!
I have to admit that what I've gleaned from QC, I had no idea it had anything to do about indie culture - all I've ever seen are people who rigidly stand facing each other in the exact same pose, and comment to themselves about their cleverness. |
