Zero I like your dude and all but I can't help but think he is too detailed for this? Just my two cents, see if anyone else agrees. |

Not crazy about colouring the font because it looks pretty bad in B&W. |

MILES GROVER
I am not married to this font at all, and in fact, I don't even like it that much, basically I was just looking through my fonts for something I hadn't used in a comic before and that's what I pulled out. I didn't even intend for it to stick, it was pretty much a placeholder.
I'd be willing to do a more traditional comic font, but I would really prefer something more understated than Sunday Comics or Ashcan.
But of course, you and I both know that you selected those two because they were the only two passable freebies on Blambot that had lowercase, so I guess we are going to have to look elsewhere? |

Haha yeah, pretty much. I wouldn't be opposed to buying a font, in theory, but most likely even if we did that we wouldn't legally be allowed to all use it. We'd have to pay for each copy, so that's basically not going to work.
Maybe what we need is just a nice hand-written looking font, rather than a "comic" font per se. I'll see what I can find. |

Oh, for my sake, try to get something that comes with at least regular and italic built in. |

Real italics and bolds are hard to find on free fonts. Heck it's hard enough to find ones with decent quote characters. Here are a couple I found that didn't have any necessary characters missing:

Basically the problem is that free programs don't exactly do fake italics very well, but understood. |

Verdana is a font intended to work well at small sizes not anti-aliased, like on a webpage. For that, it's certainly an OK font. But it's not nice enough nor particularly appropriate for speech bubble text, so why would we use it? There are tons of better choices. |

I know just saying if you don't use blue text in the first place it won't look bad. |

I'm just saying that practically any font is a better choice than Verdana in this case.
Anyway, here are some different eyes and mouths for the ghost guy I'm working on.
