Hey man,
I'm happy for you that you've got a thing going with your ex that you're finding fulfilling. Really, I am. Everyone deserves a little bit of that in their lives. (Except molesters, rapists, republicans, etc.) This is just a friendly reminder that the internet is a big, public place. If you keep picking on women's rights, there's a good chance that your lady friend will eventually stumble upon your quips and be less than impressed. There's also a chance she won't, but I don't think anyone who has a mother, a female lover, a sister, or female friends should be making jokes about something as important the female right to vote. I apologize if your lover is not female and I'm being presumptuous, but Dromiceiomimus is a chick and your friend. I think it's time you show some respect.
A concerned friend,

I wouldn't presume to speak for T-Rex (of course!) because that would not be classy, but I think he puts them on the same level as poutine and electricity: a very high level indeed! He wants all the credit because it's good things. |

Plus, inventing woman's rights is actually pretty easy to do, ESPECIALLY if you can back it up with other revelations from the future.
I mean, probably quite a few people were thinking "Hey, maybe woman should be treated equally!" but they got silenced, because they didn't RIP THE POWER OF THUNDER FROM THE SKIES AND GIVE IT TO MAN. |

it would have been badass if the women's rights movement had been started early... BY A DINOSAUR! it would have been unstoppable. all the chauvanists would have been "Well, I used to think women weren't deserving of rights, but shit... THEY HAVE THEIR OWN DINOSAUR!" |

I enjoy that once in a while I will forget Ryan is Canadian and then there'll be a sudden Dino Comics reference to poutine or expiry dates. |

There's all this outrage now because there's a statue of the key women who fought for the vote in Canada, who turned out to have been way racist and for sterilizing all kinds of "undesirables". They may have also been immortalized on a stamp or a coin.
Were they just a product of their times? If so, can we condemn them?
On the other hand, can we celebrate them as human rights pioneers when they were shitting all over everyone?

But Eugenics was pretty popular at the time. It was considered a very liberal and progressive idea; I don't think you can really fault them for their context!
Oscar Schindler was an adulterer, but that doesn't make his saving of hundreds of Jews during WW2 any less important. |

I'm not necessarily disagreeing. On the other hand, though, some people of colour feel that celebrating these women for their contributions and ignoring the aspects that are not-- celebrate-able-- is uncool. |

I once read an article by Chinua Achebe that said we shouldn't like Joseph Conrad's books because he was a racist.
It got me pretty angry! |

Sigh.
Sure, we could shoot ourselves in the asses, too, but it wouldn't be fun nor wise. |

America has no concept of food going "bad". For instance, here sour milk is considered a delicacy.
No, really, we have them, except we call them "expiration dates". |
