how come the bike lights blink right? Is some sort of skill required to make them all flash correctly? Is a score somehow computed? etc etc etc

I don't know how they get the lights to blink. I think they're pre-programmed, because he definitely doesn't have an actual fake plastic guitar in his hands. The scores are just added effects; they don't actually reflect his performance but they might correspond to the scores you'd get for such a performance in the game.

It's not a real game, it's a spectacle designed to look like the real game.

the fact that it is an ad does not detract from the fact that it is way cooler than the other guitar hero videos in existence.

it should be an ad for huffy tho imo

That's my take too.

Riding a bike through an obstacle course in tune with music is way cooler than someone not playing a non-guitar in the rec room.

It's also pretty impressive in that it looks pretty authentic—as in "it looks like a bunch of guys really put this together in their (obviously ample) spare time." It looks that way to me, anyway.

Tyler how did you know it was fake right away/please enlighten me re: camera tricks.

I don't know, just the dots and lines don't look real sometimes. Plus why bother programming the lights when that is so easy to do with video editing? Not to mention the fact that this goes through some streets seemingly at random, through parks, etc.; I know it was night but why wasn't he hit by a car? Why wasn't anything washed off the ground while it was being figured out? I kind of voiced these complaints irl but was told that "the lighting was too hard to fake" and yet here we are in fakesville. Plus why would there be a guy dressed up as Gene Simmons or whatever. It's more than some nerd would have done. It was too obvious.
