You know, the one that had Justin as a minor cameo? Well, I finished it!
It's called Santa's Sleigh Ride, and you can find it here. It's about Santa Claus and his last delivery on Christmas Eve, and it's very short.
You'll need a Z-code interpreter to play it. I'd recommend Windows Frotz for Windows users, and Zoom for Mac.
This is actually the second version released. Two guys on my other board tested it for me first. I'd like it if you guys would tell me your thoughts about the game. (i.e., What you think of the theme, puzzle, overall tone, etc.) Oh, and if you see any bugs, tell me about them, okay?
Some notes:
There's currently only one minor puzzle in the game. Originally there was none, but one of the testers thought there should be at least one more puzzle, so I coded it in.
There's some minor in-jokes (I think I told you guys about the one involving Justin) in this game, and at least three commands added in for flavor. That's not a whole lot, but if you like looking for these things, there's that.
I'm thinking about adding another puzzle, maybe one where you have to clear out the chimney or something before you can go down into the house. Any thoughts?
This game was written primarily for children, so if any of you guys have any kids you can show the game to, that'd be very helpful indeed.
Speaking of such, I don't think I got the basics of IF conventions across very well in my "about" text. Can anybody give me some suggestions about this? Maybe give me some resources to use with the final game? |

Woo! I did it.
The game didn't seem to know what I was talking about when I said "x justin's stocking" or "x kelly's stocking". It was telling me it didn't know what they were. When I used "j stocking" or "k stocking" it was fine. |

Also: it is more like an interactive narrative than a game? Unless there are is a loss condition of some sort, or a way to win with less than 6 points. |
