honestly i was constantly afraid of the paper in the oven catching fire so it was hard to enjoy comfortably but otherwise i also liked it. |

andrew normally i find video art pretentious and media arts students insufferable but it's not the case this time!
there are a lot of neat ideas in this - the erratic cuts and framing turn keep it interesting and the aesthetic of cooking books is p. cool
my only criticism is that it seems to start and end too abruptly - if the shot of you walking into the kitchen was maybe a second longer, and if the last shot lingered on you sitting in the chair for just a second or two, it'd make the whole thing feel more resolute
srsly though this is a definite success $$ |

Andrew this is so good, you make me smile so much :D
I like how the end is just you putting on your hat and also how you come out of nowhere at the beginning. It's more in keeping with the quick random changes throughout the film.
Also, what books were you cooking? Has anyone in your film class accused you of fascism re: book-burning? Did you tell them that actually the books weren't burnt at all they were in fact a little rare thank you very much? |
