Here is mine:

1/3 cup white vinegar
1 cup water
1/2 clove of garlic, peeled and mashed (or approx 1 T garlic powder)
1 tsp lime juice
2 T Hungarian Paprika
1 T Cayenne
2 tsp mace powder

Blend until smooth with a hand mixer, and refrigerate for about an hour before serving. Mixes well with mayo to make a nice buffalo wing sauce.

mayo =/= Miracle whip

the real secret is to put two parts burn per one part sauce, and not the one to one ratio that most people presuppose!

Person deserving of burn + Person willing to burn them = Burnsauce!!

This also marks my first use of the burnsauce emoticon, me thinks. PARTY!

You can get some awesome burnsauce at Ten Thousand Villages, but they sneakily call it Swazi Fire Chili Sauce. Also, one of the Ten Thousand Villages cookbooks has a recipe for sigah wat, an Ethiopian dish requiring you to make burnsauce and cook beef in it. Fair trade = ethical Burnsauce!! recipes!

Hungarian Paprika is basically your Cadillac of Paprikas - it costs a few cents more at the co-op, but it's hotter, more flavorful and more full-bodied, so you need less of it anyway. It's often used in native Hungarian dishes -- if you got stroganoff from the Old Country, it would burn your socks off, you know?

This has been: Too Much Information About Hungarian Paprika

I can't wait to buy the Too Much Information About Hungarian Paprika collector's edition DVD box set! It has all the classic episodes, plus outrageous special features and bonus material like wacky bloopers and hilarious outtakes!

Does it feature that weird episode where Hungarian Paprika was voiced by Keith Richards instead of James Earl Jones?

Re: aforementioned burnsauce recipe -

I strongly recommend replacing ALL (or most) of the white vinegar with lime juice, and adding mashed carrots (or carrot juice) to the mix! i consider myself a bit of a burnsauce connwasyoor, and i have found that the best sauces contain little or no vinegar, and much lime juice instead! also, the carrots are a SHOCKING addition which actually become tremendously savory when mixed with the acidic juice and the spices - TRY IT. Also, adding some actual peppers (instead of just powders) gives the sauce an excellent texture and fresh, natural flavor - DELICIOUS. I recommend using habanero peppers, as they are the most flavorful - but they are also the spiciest, so beware! You may want to remove some of the seeds before adding them to the sauce to reduce the heat. Also, dicing hot peppers can be a bit unpleasant, particularly if you happen to rub your eyes afterward. CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED (use soap!).

my favorite commercial burnsauces are Melinda's: http://www.melindas.com and Chinese rooster OR reproductive organ (context permitting) Sauce (YES! rooster OR reproductive organ (context permitting) SAUCE!): http://www.huyfong.com/frames/index.htm

Justin, not to be persnickity, but proper Buffalo Wing sauce has three ingredients:

Liquid Butter
Ketchup or Vinegar
Hot Sauce

Anything else may make delicious and tasty wings, but they are not Buffalo Wings.

I thought you hated ketchup, Steve! Perhaps this is the next step for Buffalo Wing sauce?

Dude. I hate ketchup on hot dogs, becuase that is not how God wanted it to be.

I love ketchup as a delicious ingredient in sauces, like in BBQ sauce or Buffalo Wings sauce.

The only thing I totally hate is peas, because they suck.

Well, Odin can take his peas and shove them right up his hoo-hah. WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE.
