That stuff about not being able to tell those things apart with your nose plugged is crap. I knew a girl who couldn't smell, but she tasted fine (double entendre!). Anyway, his example is something he did as a kid, and of course kids are extremely open to suggestion. We did an experiment in 2nd grade where we were supposed to be able to taste only certain things (salty, sweet, etc.) on different places on our tongues and of course everyone thought it worked, but I think they've since thrown out that theory and decided that all your taste buds taste everything. |

It's harder to taste when your sense of smell is blocked but not ALL flavor goes away. Also onions don't have the same texture at all as potatoes and apples. |

Also the thing about eggs floating is just the completely normal way to tell if your eggs have gone bad. |

Also the thing about ketchup is only kind of true. Ketchup originally just meant "sauce" basically and the ketchup we have today has very little in common with the original asian sauces that were called ketchup when brought to England, other than that they're both sauces you put on food. |

That list didn't have much in the way of facts I didn't know, but it did remind that the Mayans had totally whacked out taste buds.
Seriously, Mayans, why'd you wanna drink that? |
