I was trying to get caught up in the Dinosaur Comics archives and one of them told me that the Green Lantern's ring doesn't work on yellow.
That's pretty weak.
Is it actually true though? |

It depends on who's the Green Lantern. There was one GL for whom yellow was the weakness. |

Apparently the variability of the super hero's "one weakness" increases with the obscurity of the hero. |

Not really. Even Kryptonite is pretty inconsistent. |

Also Superman's one weakness is also magic. |

what. you can't be serious. how can you know about the green lantern and not know that the rings don't work on yellow?
Hell, sinestro's whole shtick is that he has a yellow ring

it does! it doesn't have any weaknesses. but it's based on evil and shit (which is why the green lanterns dont use it) |

There were lots of green lanterns whose ring did not work on yellow. However, the most recent incarnations have had this limitation removed. They've also made it so the ring can't be lost anymore (GL can summon the ring to himself now). And I think he doesn't have to charge the ring every day anymore? |

So now they're completely omnipotent? |

have any of you guys been watching this new Batman series on Cartoon Network? It's chockfull of crossovers which is kinda cool but at the same time utterly ridiculous. One had Batman and Green Arrow get transported to Camelot and fight wizards and demons and shit. Another had Batman flying around in space with some Green Lanterns fighting a planet. And Batman didn't have glass over his space helmet. One of the green lanterns (a ditzy dog) asked him about it and he was just all "I'm Batman I can do what I want." And then he knocked out one of the Green Lanterns for being a tool. in space. |

Their power is limited by their willpower. So I guess if they get really tired or demoralized or something their power would be lower. But yeah, most of the top-tier heroes in the DC universe are pretty close to omnipotent. |

So do other companies like Marvel limit the power of their superheroes more than DC does? |

That's what Marvel fans seem to think, but you're not going to find it in The Big Book of Defensible Positions. |

Marvel actually has a tier list for who is the best, and I think it is still COSMIC SPIDERMAN |

i think the most powerful metahuman in marvel earth-616 is phoenix and she/it is nowhere near as unstoppable/all-powerful as even aquaman
its either phoenix or galactus but once in Excalibre phoenix defeated galactus via sarcasm therefore phoenix wins imo |
