...So I thought it nice to post my first post here.
Anyway though, I saw Iron and Wine, basically just Sam Beam, on mother's day at Fingerprints in Long Beach. It was a really nice indoor setting, Fingerprints is one of the few music stores I've seen that still have a selection of LPs and those mini LPs. It's a pretty kickin' place.
Sam trimmed his massive beard so I thought he looked nice and a lot younger. The concert was nice too and Sam was pretty conversational and witty, though he forgot most of the lyrics to the songs we requested. Haha. It was pretty fun. Oh except, I'm kind of (very) short so half the time I didn't even see him and had to watch through my friend's video recorder screen. Sobs.
I got to shake his hand though and get my messenger bag signed by him. It was a sweet day. If you don't know Iron and Wine but like soft folk/indie music, then you should look it up. It really is good music.
Sam Beam is an awesome name by the way. Makes me picture Sam with eye beam powers. SAM BEAM! |

i always think of him being jim beam's brother. who, perhaps, produces a cheaper brand of whiskey. |

...Are those puns? Oh my.
Iron and Wine is pretty ohk for folk/indie but I don't know too much. It's a phase? Ask me about alt rock or rock in general. |

The Decemberists? Yeah, they are very good too, the new songs are really good. I've never seen all of them together live but I've seen Colin Meloy plenty. He did a free show at my school. |
