Hey everyone!
I've finally bought some hosting on truthandbeautybombs.com, so the forums will be moving there soon, probably this weekend.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU:
Not much! www.qwantz.com/forum will point to the new address, but the forum will actually be on truthandbeautybombs.com. I've copied over accounts and messages (you can preview them at http://67.19.160.202/~truthand/bb/ ), and when I complete the move, I'll lock the forums here, copy over what's changed, and unlock them over at the new place. It should (hopefully?) be almost seamless. Accounts and posts will remain the same, including, this time, my own.
I think that's it! |

Mr. North, though I am sure that you are handling this in a quite professional and praiseworthy manner, I am concerned about the continued viability of interthread links, or links to parts of the forum from elsewhere. Will links from one thread to another, or to a particular post, stop working, or will the old qwantz.com/forums/foo.php?bar=baz addresses also redirect to the forum's capacious new habitation?
I would like to utilize this opportunity, moreover, to express my appreciation for your inexhaustable work in creating and maintaining this meeting-place for the mind - this society of scintillation - in short, this forum of discussion, which is as a beautiful oasis in the vast sere geography we call the Internet. |

Your concerns are valid. What I will be doing is replacing the index file in the qwantzcom/forum to redirect to the new site. This should "take care", as it were, of any errarant clicks. As for links directly to threads, those will remain, for a differnet file is used for displaying those. They will be locked, however, and the footer will point towards the new forum, hopefully removing any confusion. There is even a good chance that it will be able to link directly to the thread in question. |

So, I've been to truthandbeautybombs.com (and it looks GREAT, by the way), but when I tried to post a comment, my login from this forum didn't work. Did the people who posted comments already register again, or did they use their old logins, but not everyone's login has been transferred yet? |

Mr. Blue, I do not believe that the new forums are up yet! The ineffable Mr. North has placed a blog system of some sort on that domain, for reasons that are known only to himself; the new forums will be like these, and are not yet accessible to the public! Or such is my surmise. |
