Sorry about the copyright stamp, I'm linking from a file I uploaded from deviantart instead of my documents folder, since I'm at school right now, supposedly writing a paper.
Drawn in pencil, painted in Photoshop. |

Holy hug I hate scary dogs.
Good drawing, but psycho dog/wolf pictures frighten me. |

I like the fur. Is that from an existing texture or something or was that your own concoction? |

My fur recipe:
I made the fur texture in a separate window using the paintbrush tool, which is either insanely boring or a lot of fun, depending on what you want it to be. I then pasted it in chunks over top of the scanned penciling of the wolf that I had painted roughly with grey and white flat colors. Then I used the cloning stamp to fill in gaps, and after using the smudge tool to alter the direction of the fur to make the gaps seamless, I used dodge and burn for the highlights so the fur looks a little more believable.
My other attempts at producing fur have turned out terrible, and I would have killed to know a good way of doing it, so now that I've finally figured it out, I'm going to advance mankind by sharing my trade secret with all of you. |

Whoa, very nice, man! Pretty realistic, too. (Well, except the ears maybe...) |

Hmm... those ears are a bit exagerated. Maybe a little editing is needed. |

I think it looks pretty dang good!
Then again I don't have close-up experience with wolves. |
