UPDATE
The comic discussed in this thread can now be read HERE! This forum is still pretty much the best place to discuss it, though, so it would probably be a good idea if you'd leave some nice comments on how much you loved the Homerun Garden comics you've been reading!
UPDATED
I've been trying to think of a rad new idea for a comic. I was kind of trying to think of an awesome premise like that of Whispered Apologies, and I THINK I came up with a pretty neat variation on the theme at least...
The comic: "Homerun Garden." The premise: Readers submit ONE PANEL of a comic, which the author (thus far me and inseutculnaime) builds an entire strip around. The panel has all the text filled out, and can be used as the payoff, or for the setup. Whichever. The point is, the panel gets effectively RECONTEXTUALIZED.
Anybody who wants to help us out can send a few single panels our way. (But no photos or sprites, please. That stuff would be too hard to duplicate.)
You could post them here?
Also, due to positive responses here in the forum, it's pretty much for sure that this project will continue, and migrate to an actual website. Anybody who can help me do website stuff go ahead and let me know. Anybody who wants to join the project, just let me know, and I'll probably just let you in on it without any hassle. |

Is this something like what you're looking for?
And also, would "Cocoa Klaws" not be a deliciously TaBB-tastic cereal? |

It almost seems more similar to Exploding Dog than WA, but it might work really well! |

I'm a fan of the fact that it's as much an artistic exercise as it is a writing one.

I will win you over in future installments...
You will be adding an additional, perpendicular line to your minus sign. |

Dang, inseutculnaime. I'm already working on yours, and it's definately tougher. Not only do I have to work with style and color, but I now have hand-lettering to imitate, and a uniform level of jpeg ghosting to maintain in order to be convincing.
Plus I am taking this one for five panels I think. |

I independently conceived of the idea of a tile comic. For a while there I felt quite pleased with myself. I've had to upgrade to the idea of a randomly-selected tile comic, probably not that novel.
Seriously though you wonder why some people bother drawing all the panels. |

I'm amazed that the drawing style has so far been duplicated and matched, gg |

Wow. The idea sounds like gold, and the first two comics are pretty good. I'll be watching this one. |

Thanks for the positive reviews thus far guys! I am going to do a few more I think before I decide to to commit to this, but so far I'm having tons of fun.
Also: Horus: I know this is kind of cheating, but I don't recognize that font at all. Could you be a doll and tell me what it is? |

UPDATE: I have decided on a whim to title this comic "Homerun Garden", because I liken the panel-submission process to both the planting of a seed, and to the pitching of a baseball, and I couldn't decide which metaphor I liked best, so I just combined them. Also, I deleted the space between home and run, because it's funnier that way.
Just for fun, you may refer to the original panels as "seeds", and to your participation in contributing them as "pitching."
Or not, I suppose. |

No, no, if we're referring to the original panels as "seeds," then I for one will be referring to the act of contribution as "spilling."
And I plan to spill one for you soon! |

Wow, this is a _really_ great idea.
Now if only I could present you with a comic panel...
HMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Maybe You should dedicate some actual webspace to this endeavor? |

I probably will. But first I have to be sure that
A) There is sufficient interest in the concept to make such a move worthwhile
B) I can keep doing these on a semi-regular basis.
By the way, if anybody would like to join me in this venture and make it a group project, I am totally open to that. That is if you CAN (pardon my arrogance) do the stuff I'm doing! |

Now that I can pick and choose, I did an easy one. (or rather, one that I could whip up in fifteen minutes with just my computer.)
I have no clue what that black blob with spots is, but it looked more like an expanding thought bubble zoomed in on the side of a die than anything else. So I just kind of went with that.
I didn't properly duplicate font this time...I have too many fonts on my computer to fish through
