No, but this is actually far from the worst of the changes wrought through the SE's and dvds. And while this is the thing that lit up geekdom as the last straw, it's really not the big a deal. If it's not to your pleasing, it's so brief that it doesn't ruin the scene or anything, like, say what Lucas did to the Jabba scene in Jedi.
I still shudder to think about that. Sadly it was a grim portent of things to come.
Also: I still think there's a lot to like about Episode III. |

R2 is probably my favorite. What a jerk!
I'm pretty sure he's cussing 3PO out the entire time. Especially when he's not there. |

Word. Too bad about the drag factor of the other two movies.
I'd be interested to see how different the prequils might have been if he actually wrote the whole thing at once, and did a couple warm-up projects first. |

It kind of feels like Ep I and about half of Ep II could have been ignored, since basically Episode III provides most of the main plotline.
Unless you're considering the whole "immaculate conception" of Anakin's mum, which I think we discussed a bit last summer: essentially, Palpatine's old Sith Lord who "could create life", knocked up Anni's mom through Dark Side powers, and sort of cursed Anakin to be a baddie from day one. |

I am pretty determined to edit the three prequels down into one 2-hour movie. Most of Ep.I would be gone (except perhaps for a brief dream sequence), all of the Trade Federation mumbo jumbo, and even the Jango Fett stuff which doesn't really add much to the story of Anakin. |

Episode I should have been the opening crawl of the first Prequel, which would be Episode II, and the Episode III is II and III, with two ending with Anakin's turn in a bad-ass Empire-Stlyle cliffhanger.
Then Episode III is all bad-assery. The time lapse in between flics would have made Anakin's turn seem less quick and forced too.
Heh. Forced.
No pun intended, boys and girls! |

Also, Episode II (now, I) would need to be fixed to suck a lot less. |

My favorite part of Star Wars Episode Three: The Sixth One was when Padme gave birth and Luke and Leia just popped out with a "POP!" sound effect and Padme died so they gave her Xs for eyes. |

I'd be willing to trade an entire movie for the Clone Wars cartoon.
Did you guys see that? |

After a lot of prodding from Tim, I actually did. I'm not sure it was a great idea to have it in ten minute snippets originally, though. |

I think I'm in love...
Clone Wars was better than any of the prequels, particularly the first set. Commander Cody was a freaking bad-ass in those. |

General Grievous was super cool in those cartoons too.
Did I kill the thread?
Anyone want to talk about Dengar? |

That drove me NUTS. I think I tried to watch a grand total of two of them before I gave up to wait for the DVD. I mean, I know why they tried it that way, but it didn't work.
Last I heard, they were going to make a third one that would be entirely parallel to EP3. If they scrapped that (afraid to look), I'll be sad.

Aw... shucks!
Yeah, the first series was great. First time I actually started to like Anakin's character, even if he did sound exactly like Andy Dick. |

Guys, are the new IV-VI stormtroopers still clones, or are they like, "Steve Johnson"? |

Because I have an old Characters Guide that talks about "A Day in the Life of a Stormtrooper" how like, Stormtrooper Wade Jenkins goes home to dinner with the family sometimes.
This is way before the prequels, of course. |

Meh. I remember that now, because I had a spaz when Lucas said "let's use 3-D animation." It also explains why I'd forgotten about it.
The 2-D animation is a big part of what made that show so brilliant, in my estimation. That scene where Mace Windu knocks the crap out of like a zillion robots would be no where as cool if executed in any other way. |

I've never seen a Star Wars movie, but if that show is anywhere near as godly as Samaurai Jack, I'd be willing to shell out the cost of the DVD's for my Tartovsky fix. |

Maybe they could do a crossover where Jack finally finds a way to travel back in time, only he somehow travels back further than he meant to, like a long, long time ago. Then he could fight the people with the glowy swords with his own magic sword. And stuff. |
