That was more or less what I hated about The Philadelphia Experiment too. Like there are all these crazy conspiracy theories and shocking scientific horrors to work with, and the best you can come up with is a trip to the mid-eighties?

I have seen all of the Animatrix before, but I recently found the disc again and decided to give it a whirl. But those awful, drawn out but not thought out scenes of the robots becoming sentient - gratuitous violence, meaningless use of simile to back up nonsensical plot points - like why nuke the robots if it won't affect them? And if that doesn't affect them, why are bullets and conventional explosives shown doing massive damage in the following scenes?
And the anatomically bisected humans. You need your lungs intact to laugh. Grr.
The detective one's the black and white part, isn't it? It was ok I guess. I suppose the problem I'm having is that there are so many different directions that the whole thing is going in, there's bound to parts that are aimed at different audiences. |
