I tried thinking up random plots by asking yes and no question and using a random number generator to choose. Here's one attempt.

1.
Is the protagonist a human
Yes.

2.
Is the protagonist a man?
No.

3.
Is the protagonist a woman?
No.

4.
Is it a boy?
No.

5.
I’m assuming a girl then. Does she live on Earth?
Yes.

6.
Present time?
No.

7.
The past?
No.

8.
I’m assuming the future. Is it a dystopian future?
No.

9.
Is she an ordinary girl as the story starts?
No.

10.
Does she have any specific powers?
No.

11.
Does she have some specific privileges?
Yes.

12.
Is she extremely wealthy?
Yes.

13.
Is she evil?
No.

14.
Is the story about her buying something strange?
No.

15.
Is the story about her losing her wealth?
Yes.

16.
Because someone gets it by unethical means?
No.

17.
Because she gives it away?
No.

18.
Because she makes some bad investments?
Yes.

I was planning on doing 20 questions but at this point I thought it sounded like a terrible story and gave up. I've never gotten anything good by this method.

via question 2 yesses make 50% male
then question 3 will evenly divide the remaining 50% between female and nongendered/hermaphroditic/whatever (via half yes, half no)

The way I asked it's a 25% chance of the protagonist being a man, 12,5 % a woman, 6,25% a boy, 6,25% a girl.

Think I asked some bad questions. Like when I asked if it was a dystopian future and got a no. Futures that aren't at least a little dystopian tend to be boring.

But even if I asked good questions it's probably a bad way to come up with a plot.
