It's pretty sad, but not too sad, since he led a long, fulfilling life (in fact, it's hard to imagine a more prolific author, in Sci-Fi or anything)

Still, though :[

Let's all talk about our favorite Ray Bradbury stories while we're here

I once checked out a short story collection of his from the library. It had about a hundred short stories, and though I don't think I read them all, a lot of the ones I did read (like Jack-in-the-Box, where a boy lives in a secluded mansion with his crazy mom, or Frost and Fire, about a planet where people can only live for eight days) stuck with me for a real long time.

Well, yeah, but I think Asimov is probably the only dude who's written more than him.

"All Summer in a Day" is the saddest damned story. And he was an important part of both It Come from Outer Space and The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, two movies without which many, many other movies wouldn't exist. And he wrote the screenplay for the '50s Moby-Dick.

So I guess we all owe Ray Bradbury something.

Would now be a good time to write a tribute story in which someone travels back through time and accidentally distracts Ray Bradbury so that he forgets to write "A Sound of Thunder", and the Republicans win another term instead of getting ousted by Obama?

Now's as good a time as any, I guess.

Ray Bradbury is one of those impossibly nostalgic sci-fi names I can see printed on a folded and crinkled brown second-hand book I read when I was young.
