okay i'm going to get totally drippy and sentimental for a moment and side with Xylo here in the hurt feelings department. i know it is kind of silly to feel hurt over a message board, but it is a fact in my own life that this board--in all its stages--has been really substantial to my growth as a person. i've been lurking about these forms since its Talk About Comic days. that's about five years that this forum has been my outlet for news, creativity, the sharing of some really great ideas, and lots of other things--and i found it through DC. and though i suppose the main focus of the forums has strayed far from the discussion of dino comics, and maybe it has gotten a bit meaner, but there are still a lot of great ideas and great people on this board.
um, i guess what i'm saying is that this board has always been really important to me, and it could certainly become important to other people, too. not all new people are being scared away; in fact, i'm sure a lot of them do the same thing as me, which is primarily to sit back and enjoy the exchange of ideas and all kinds of things that goes on here. i certainly don't think it's fair to the newer fans of dinosaur comics to have to be completely cut off from a chance to join the forums. there's always the risk that they might be scared off by someone or other, but there's also the chance that they'll find like minds and a very comfortable place to learn and talk about new things. if i hadn't found these forums, there are so many things i would not have known about or thought about or gotten to learn about.
so i guess i am asking you to reconsider linking to these forums on the DC website. there are a lot of readers out there new to the comics and the webcomic community in general who i'm sure are looking for some creative outlet or someplace to learn new things. of course some people will get scared off and i know you would feel responsible for any hurt feelings because of your connection to this board, but you do always have the option of appointing a new moderator, as others have already said. all i'm saying is that, believe it or not, dino comics has been the jumping off point for so many people into the webcomics and internet community. the message board here has opened up a lot of doors for people, a lot of relationships have formed and a lot of creative stuff and ideas have been shared. it's kind of unfair to cut off this resource for new readers, i think, as my own experience on this board has been invaluable, as little as i've participated openly. so while some people might get shot down--undeniably, there is meanness here--others might have the experience here that i've had, which is a great one. i know how lame it is to get sentimental over something like this, but there you are. please reconsider linking to the forums, even if it is just a teeny tiny link at the bottom of the page. there's so much sharing here that doesn't go on anywhere else on the internet, and that might be really important for some people.
um so that is my thing i'm sorry it's really embarrassing but no i am not taking it back
that's just the way it crumbles, cookie-wise
