What do you guys think of this show? Has anyone read the comics? I have heard the old series is better, but I only saw season one of the new stuff.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "better" but uh the new stuff is p. great for seasons 1 and 2 primarily. I didn't like s3 as much and have not seen the last season in full.

I was attending a conference a few weeks back where they touted BSG as good example re: disabled people, because it didn't tokenise them, and also they stayed disabled or injured instead of having it handwaved away like Geordi's visor or Luke's robot arm. Who got hurt on the show like that?

Gaeta is probably who they were mainly thinking of.

Edit for spelling.

I was thinking it happened in the third season but I guess it was actually in the first half of the 4th season (which was split in half for broadcast).

I am getting season two on Netflix right now. I liked how the outdated tech on BSG itself was actually a benefit, since they could not be scanned by the droids. I haven't seen if they used that as a plot point in future episodes or it was just taken as a matter of course.

I think it was sort of a one-time set-up. Like "hey we've told you that the cylons can't mess with our shit because we're not networked so we don't need to tell you again" type of thing. I don't think it ever really came up beyond the pilot, except maybe one episode I think where they needed to temporarily set up a network? I think I have that right?

mostly but they do refer to it a few other times throughout the entire series. it's sort of a fundamental thing you need to understand, which is why they allude to it later

It's actually super important towards the end. Steve maybe you should stop saying stuff like that without having seen the whole thing.

the show doesn't really look much better in HD though because of the film grain filter

battlestarians keep appearing in Warehouse 13

Colonel Tigh is in this weeks episode and last week was that guy who played the lawyer with the stupid sunglasses.

it was pretty damn sweet, but I was not a huge fan of the ending

didn't suck but I kinda expected

If anything it was much more explicit than I wanted it to be.

BSG is the best and CAPRICA now airing on Sci-Fi is pretty okay too

I have been watching BSG Season 4 lately (you can follow my progress here) and

I just finished episode 10, "Revelations"

Can someone confirm/deny with minimal spoilers that it is impossible for this season to get any better than that episode

because seriously that was the best one of the season. Definitely the best of season 3 or 4 so far. I am quite pleased with season 4, it's getting closer to season 2.

Edit: I just finished 10 but I only have my posts going up once a week to avoid overloading any subscriber's brains with too many posts etc.

also re: Caprica

Still haven't watched any of it, but it sounds like a show I can Get Behind

But it also sounds like syfy are idiots, releasing the pilot on DVD and then splitting up the first season and waiting something like 6 months before airing the rest of it?

Did I mention I hate how shows go on a hiatus halfway through and don't pick up for months (I'm looking at you stargate universe)

Caprica is the next show I'm going to review once I'm caught up with SGU. I've discovered how p. great downloading TV episodes and watching them on my ipod is. Well okay, I'd rather watch them on TV but I don't know how to do that effectively.

Maybe eventually I will just get the thing that lets you watch ipod touch videos on tv
