oh

I found this review before. I nearly came here and talked about it, but it was too stupid to be worth wasting time on. amphigorist is pretty much correct

Dude compared it to Beefheart and said it was nothing like PvP. To my eyes, that's a favorable review.

it gets more favourable towards the end, but the dude is the wrong type of person to be reviewing comics

It gets more favorable towards the end because by that point I quit reading.

Today's installment is so good. I love all of Gerhardsen's henchthings, but I even more love that they all follow the dress code no matter how freakish their anatomy.

I like the fuzzy blue guy. And the green guy with the big yellow eyes.

Oyvind, not many people would have the balls to draw this many bizarre creatures.

My expectation is that each one will receive a bloody death scene.

I'm just a big fan of Inatario's speech patterns. And his name.

As for my favorite bizarre henchguy, I like the one who looks like a gremlin and the one who's face is all hair.

I like the guy in the first panel with the long head and googly eyes.

The one who carries around what looks like antlers.

He reminds me of a dream I had as a child.

Runners-up are the big round pink guy with the cigar and the guy on all fours with the really long neck.

Oh man, so I went back and re-read the archive and it was totally great to see connections that I never caught before.

My favorite subtle connection was definitely the connection between this one and this one.

I don't know if the fact that I read the entire archives in about a day is why I should have gotten that, or why I didn't. (i.e., maybe my brain had already reached its awesomeness threshold)

The only thing I didn't connect between those two were the bird references, but now that I think about it, there have been more.

There's this, for example, and on one occasion there was a very finely drawn bird in the comic, only I don't remember which one. I did copy it because I intended to use it as an avatar, though:

Webcomics Nation was down for a while, but seems to be OK now.

Also thanks for the comments.

Mister Thorsby, your comic is genius.

I have a question though: is the entire comic planned out in advance? Or are you writing as you go?

P.S. Because of your avatar I always picture you looking like Vorte.

Thanks. Some things is planned out, some is made up as I go along. Events that makes permanent changes to the plot is usually planned out long before they happen. Many of the most important events were planned before I started the comic, but with very little detail.

With action sequences I tend to have the idea for them long before they happen, but I don't work out the detail before I get to them, and I tend to change little things as I go along.

Be careful with those quizzes. If they're made by a Quizzbeast, they can hypnotize you pretty bad. I was under mind control from a Quizzbeast one time, and I ended up killing my entire crew. Fortunately, though, this particular hypnotic effect can't control your toes, so I just killed the Quizzbeast with my toes.

I'm watching his (Evan's) ustream right now and he's singing Hitmen's praises and saying that Øyvind could make a lot of money off of his comic.

He <3s you Thorsby!
