with a title about "grazing")
but I'm not old enough to actually own my own lawn
so I only know about this shit via my aunt/uncle
who have the best lawn I've ever seen or been on irl
so I don't feel v. qualified to call you sheeple
but
imo it would be a v. useful thing for yall to know
re:
some of yall are
getting close to maybe
owning property
imo
so I will just "throw this out there" + yall can look into this shit instead of taking my word for it [via reading rainbow]

n/e way
wrote a long thing but
I'll just summarize it:

-clover lawns look and feel better than grass-only lawns
and have great flowers
-they fertilize themselves via putting nitrogen in the soil, which is why patches of clover (and the grass in an around it) are still green while the rest of your lawn is brownish/yellowish
-you don't have to mow clover v. often, obviously

so a clover lawn gives you a great-looking, soft lawn that doesn't need fertilizing or watering or frequent mowing

warning:

if you are allergic to bees or are some kind of faggot about bees, either don't get a clover lawn or make sure to mow it as frequently as a traditional lawn (so that there won't be flowers)
because the flowers attract bees

Even if I get to the house-buying point, I assume I will just keep whatever lawn it has.

...unless it really sucks.

if I ever own a lawn I will definitely be doing this
and almost only for the mowing

maybe mowing just seems like a big deal to me tho because
I have a biggish lawn
but
I'm sure you would save
a pretty penny on gas imo
and
tons of effort
if you are using a
push mower

Lawns aren't a waste.
They are a place for your children to frolic.
And once they are older, mowing it will be their first source of money.

lawns are a waste but
what else are you going to do with all that space?
build another house?
sell it, and have some poor people living v. close to you (re: no lawn between) on that space?

A tennis court is only good for tennis, though.
A lawn is good for whiffleball, freeze tag, other forms of tag, capture the flag, spud, volleyball, frisbee (both ultimate and non), bocce, lounging in a hammock...
You can add a swing set. Swings are no good without a nice soft lawn, because then your kids will hurt themselves when they jump off the swings.

I don't know
I was thinking of daniel when I said that
+ I assumed that people who live in "the burbs" (I assume yall live in "the burbs") would have small lawns and not feel the need to have a riding mower

I would get a tennis court because
having kids is creepy
and tennis is the only adult sport that you can play in a backyard

There are problems with people, say like in texas, that like to have these nice lawns. Except it's kind of droughting here and the leading usage of water is landscaping. They just recently announced they are going to use a bunch a land that people have owned for centuries to flood up and create a reservoir so people can grow tropical plants.

Also I despise the sound of lawn mower noises. Like really, it ruins my day.

Would you actually play tennis on it, or would it be just for visual looks?

I wish I had a lawn at my current place and was a little kid who knew a bunch of other little kids.
Someone write a book about this so Chen and I can read it.

I'm not sure how I forgot soccer for my list.
Flag football is okay, too.

manual lawnmowers are all you really need for 95% of lawns

Also in texas, at least where I live. Everyone has a stupid fence. People run into your fence with a car and you have to go out saying, "you hit my fence!"

Does that really happen that often?
Fences are good to keep the bow-wows out.

The only damage our fence ever saw was because teenagers who'd drink in the park and then flee when the cops showed up used our yard as a shortcut and would not succeed at jumping the fence.
Cars are more careful.
