I am looking for recommendations of anime that is appropriate for kids aged 4-9ish that's dubbed in English.

I know there's Pokemon and Digimon and stuff like that, but what else is there? Sailor Moon would be okay (I am pretty sure I started watching it when I was 7 or 8?) but I can't stand the English voices now that I've gotten used to watching it in Japanese. All the other anime I can think of that I've actually watched is aimed a little older.

I don't want things that have a ton of fighting, like DBZ, because even though I really liked it as a kid, my boyfriend's kids are already prone to "play-fighting" and they do not need that kind of encouragement.

They watch Glitter Force on Netflix and it is completely awful IMO. It's like a really lame, poorly animated, frustrating rip-off of Sailor Moon. They also started watching a Netflix Original that is called Elves something or other that I actually don't mind, and it's really pretty to look at even if I'm not watching.

Oh also it has to be available on Netflix or Hulu or possibly YouTube. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

oh and it doesn't have to be a series, anime movies that are on Netflix or Hulu would be good too!

I want them to watch a bunch of the Studio Ghibli movies but as far as I can tell, none of them are available to watch on Netflix or Hulu :(

Little Witch Academia perhaps?

I haven't watched much of the new series, but the original shorts are awesome.
Some might be too scary for the younger part of your age range, but overall it's v "appropriate."

I recc'd that irl! I've been watching the series and while the characters are all older than the kids, you're right- there's nothing inappropriate. No more than (and actually probably less than) the early Harry Potter movies. Or Sailor Moon.
It was really the only one I could think of.

I remember trying Glitter Force thinking it was a parody show.

I wonder if Glitter Force is trash because the localization is trash or because Pretty Cure is almost entirely trash.

Ida remembered Hamtaro the other day but apparently it isn't streaming anywhere, and then I remembered Card Captors and haven't checked to see if it's available yet.

Are there any movies anyone can think of??
