the office is the first thing people probably think of and it seems like the best example

man i just can't get into it

seems like it pops up in a lot of modern tv comedies that would have "smart! -some critic" written on their dvd box art

man that stuff is always too real for me

end up feeling legitimately uncomfortable and embarrassed when the main character poops himself and everyone else silently stares and judges

Parks and Recs doesn't seem that uncomfortable to me, it's just some characters doing stupid things but I can easily not identify with them (I guess that's what causes the difference).

I was thinking about a sitcom with characters whose personality switches between characters every episode. This way you can't predict that Chandler will make a sarcastic remark because Monica will have that persona.

that season isn't really all that good

none of the current critical darlings or highly rated shows utilize awkward/uncomfortable setups as humor (on the reg, at least) so i dont see why this is a thing worth talking about atm

Because not everything has to be about what's on television right now.

Whatever, man. I don't think Daniel made this to be relevant, just to find out more about the people who like(d) that stuff.

daniel unable to separate unrealistic situations in fictional sitcoms from real things happening to him irl, holds grudge against three stooges for putting him in hospital after viewing an episode

What's a wrong reason to like something?

Except racism, etc. obviously.

daniel, have you considered that some people enjoy feeling uncomfortable the same way that people enjoy being scared by horror movies?

you get the raw feeling, but its fun because you know its not real

woops sorry forgot i was 5 years old, will go back to sucking on my thumb
