The official Tumble and Fall webcomic.
Updates Tuesdays and Fridays.

I hope you like my low-fi approach and enjoy the comic!

(I have re-done all known strips, and there are new ones as well, of course!)

Is there only one comic up right now? That's all I could find.

If the premise of this comic is just people tumbling and falling, that's really great and I hope you can sustain that premise for a long time.

Yep, it's just one comic right now, next one's up on Tuesday.

And yeah, it's just a guy in a suit tumbling and falling.

Cheers, guys!
Really happy I finally made the effort. There's still room for a lots of improvement, but right now I'm just building a good backcatalogue of strips.

Cheers! Yeah, the old strips do have a more, kind of rough charm. Really wanted to unify the look, though. Seeing the other strips yet to come, it really was worth it.

Really hoping you will like the new ones...

I'm very glad you started putting the title in the image above the strip. I like reading the titles of this before seeing the strip. Plus, this way they stand alone better outside the context of the website.

Anyhow, I'm glad you have a website for this now too!

Definitely. Don't know why I didn't think of that earlier to be honest.

Thanks for the all-around love. Hope I won't disappoint!

Hey guys,

This Friday will see the first brand new Tumble and Fall strip for those who have already seen me post the others on the old forum.
I know June has been a bit heavy on the old stuff (for you old board guys out there), but the ratio new-old is tipping to 'NEW' from here on out.

And for the rest of you who have never seen a Tumble and Fall strip before: It's all new! Well, the concept of tumbling and falling isn't, really. But planning to do a webcomic about it for years and years and years surely is!
I can already see myself in year 5, working closely with a group of scientists, inventing new situations to tumble and fall in.

Actually... I do agree. I wasn't able to quite reach the quality of the originals with the new 'style'. The new ones do profit from it a lot, though. Well, you can check it out on Friday (tease, tease).

Currently I'm testing doing them completely on the computer with my old trusty hand-cramp inducing Wacom Graphire4. It's working surprisingly well (still takes me a good 4 hours to do one strip). My current avatar is part of one panel from those strips.

Anyone here with some graphic tablet experience by the way? Is the Intuos a lot better than the Graphire? Or should I rather save up a lot more to spend money on something like the SUPERFANCY cintiq? Is there anything else out there?
Also heard rumours Apple is developing a tablet pc kind of thing (similar to the iPhone, just bigger basically). So that might be another alternative?

dennis i have an intuos 2 from a few years ago and it's pretty great
for what you're doing though it doesn't seem like you'd need something that fancy
i got it when i was doing a lot of digital art and now pretty much everything i do is traditional so really it's just a more intuitive way to use a mouse
having switched back and forth between tablets and paper i think that the way to get the most consistent quality is to draw everything traditionally first, and then use the tablet to clean it up

I'm using one of the older generation of wacom tablets, which doesn't have pressure sensitivity, supposedly the new generation of intuos do. I have no experience with them and am trying to find a Mac store or something that has one on display so I can properly test it. You may be able to either control size of the brush stroke, or shading with the pressure, and the buttons down the side you can program to select tools, (I usually need the eraser readily accessable :-)

I did not know they made a tablet that works with modern computers that isn't pressure sensitive

I mean, I had a $30 Disney-branded tablet once, and it was pressure sensitive.

Yeah, my Graphire is pressure sensitive, and, really, it is enough for what I do.
It's just in the transition from drawing on paper to getting on the computer to draw that I feel the need to have a better tool. Also watching those fancy cintiq users on YouTube didn't help... those mean bastards in their white painted, sterilized, cubicle-esque nerdcages drawing pictures of Orcs and Elves...

Anway, DID YOU LIKE THE NEW STRIP!

I looked into what you said Dezro and found that it was a driver issue that was stopping mine, I thought it didn't have the feature, but seems it just needed the latest drivers, so thanks for pointing that out. I should be able to get some more functionality out of it now. As for the latest strip of tumble and fall... it's funny, but I'm sure the guy will be in a lot of pain after that one. Maybe next strip they'll have to bring him in a wheelchair

I'm kind of worried that this is too high-concept for me. Like okay any individual strip is cool but like a whole comic about... tumbling and falling?

then again I loved terror island so who knows
