they are alterations of the voice bank that make them different than the original but still recognizably the same person
personally I don't think they really sound any better or anything but
instituting Cold + Serious into Len's character is just gonna emphasize the whole
Len pretending to be adult/manly thing in the fandom

I find it hard to get into a lot her songs/covers because typically people tend to make her sound pop-idolish
I have the same problem with Miku too
I just find the character of "I'm a girl singer!" to be too shallow
what I mean is like

and I like gumi best when she sounds like she sounds engaged in conflict

unashamedly admit my enjoyment of music and it's ability to affect me is rarely related to how well executed/played it is
it's the same with literature, etc
get more affected by what it is people have to say with their art than
how good they are at saying it
