it's a product of necessity
if I include too many frames the file gets too big
so I cut down on the frames
but then it looks too choppy
so I speed it up
and now it doesn't look choppy and it's not seven megabytes

really the solution is to use flash or html5 video to get proper video compression but iirc you need a bunch of javascript to make it play and loop properly and you can't put it in a forum or a tumblr or anything

It's always just waving a toy. In the live-action series, Luna is not a real cat, but a magical stuffed animal. Except for the part where she's a real girl, but I didn't get that far, I quit after three episodes.
But yeah, it'd be so much better if they went with a realistic cat puppet, like they did in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. That wouldn't be as toyetic, though.
