I don't think red stag counts as bourbon

That does sound good
(but soco is even less of a bourbon than red stag)

also I am very much about drinking Buffalo Trace or Bulleit Rye (but I dunno if rye belongs in the bourbon thread, eh, close enough)

woodford reserve is pretty tasty too imo

Totally agree on Woodford Reserve, lately my favorite rye (that is, it's too expensive to buy regularly) is made by Redemption:

Seriously, this shit is amazing burnsauce

The only rye I've ever had is jim beam rye, the others I've seen have all been too expensive for something I'm definitely going to mix.

Buffalo trace is great whiskey, and at a really fair price IMO. Woodford reserve is also good and a bit more dry.

never had it

Bourbon Rankings (that I have had):
Woodford Reserve
Buffalo Trace
Jim Beam (because it is perfect to mix with anything)
Maker's Mark
Jack Daniels
Evan Williams
George Dickel
Tuthiltown (would be higher but how can you justify charging so much for such a young distillery?)

and I'm sure I've had some others but I can't remember them all.

Also I tried making a sour mash bourbon but it got infected. Haven't bothered to try making anything else just yet because all my carboys are occupied with Rye Pale Ales and wines.
